Historical development
What puts Bruker Elemental ahead of the technological curve? Our history as handheld XRF innovators. Beginning in the early 1980s, a team of scientists from United Nuclear, working with the US Department of Energy, pioneered the earliest breakthroughs in portable XRF that led to the formation of Scitec, the company that later would become Bruker Elemental.
Since those early days, continued innovation has made handheld XRF technology an indispensable tool in fields as diverse as art conservation, scrap sorting, PMI in the petrochemical industry, and the NASA space exploration program. The S1 TURBOSD is the first portable alloy analyzer powered by the proprietary XFlash® SDD detector for dramatically increased speed and accuracy of analysis. The Tracer is now established as the foremost portable XRF (PXRF) instrument for art and conservation and related applications.
