APEX DUO – Mo and Cu radiation at your fingertips
The APEX DUO combines molybdenum and copper X-ray sources with a highly accurate goniometer and the most sensitive CCD detector for crystallography. The result is a highly versatile instrument that allows fast and redundant data collection to high resolution with Mo radiation and determination of absolute structures for light atom organic compounds.
The versatile tool for Single Crystal Diffraction
Charge density experiments and protein screening are now possible on one instrument. Molybdenum sources are either available as a fine focus sealed tube with the optional TRIUMPH monochromator (PDF) or as an air-cooled IμS microfocus tube with multilayer optics.
APEX DUO Key features
- Cu-radiation for absolute configuration and protein screening
- Mo-radiation for high throughput and charge density
- Fast and fully-automated wavelength switch
- Mo-IμS delivers up to 7 times the diffracted intensity for small samples compared to a standard graphite monochromator
- Cu-IμS microfocus tube with multilayer provides up to 30 times the intensity compared to graphite monochromated sealed Cu-tube
